Well..I have been inspired...

Many of you know I have been very inspired recently by the work of Shona Cole, and her book, the artistic mother...
well, this made me venture out and look at other mixed media artists books and i found the work of kelly rae roberts....just love her style and she has a book out that gives you step by step directions in creating art work like hers....
well. i decided to give it a try using some of the papers i made in from shonas book, and mixed them with the style from kellys book...can't quite do eyes...lol...but non the less i vm reasonably happy with what i produced, even if it is copied...the colours are a little different in real life, but i am sure you get the idea...
so the green dress girl i haven't quite finished....need some words of wisdom on her...the other is a present for a friend...i hope she likes it...

Here is the whole page

Well....here is the whole page...I may not have time this week to get on much, so this is my page inspired by Aprils inspiration over at artastic...can't show you the inspiration yet...
I made all the background papers myself by gessoing a4 paper and then washing over it with acrylic, tearing it apart and glueing it to the page...i had fun drawing the little city scene and colouring using my water colour pencils which i love!!!!
this is one of the very few potos of all of us...lol...i gessoed over the whole lot one last time, but NOT over the little city scene...it will just wash all the colour everywhere...does that make sense???

Some sneak peeks...

Well...lately I have been very influenced by the art of mixed media artist, Shona Cole...her book is lifechanging...you can order artistic mother from amazon and i highly reccommend it...

but over at artastic next month there is going to be an amazing painting for inspiration...I am giving you a sneak peek t my page, which I think is my all time favourite page i have ever made...

can't wait to show you the whole lot....you still have some time to get your entries in over there for this month...the prizes are awesome every month, and coming up soon, artastic will be celebrating its birthday with loads of prizes up for grabs...stay tuned...

More background papers for artistic mother and poetry journal...

So, here are some newer background papers and scanned for artistic mothers group...and guess what...I finally got my book from amazon...hooray....so, now i discovered i need a new program so i can use my pages i scanned...i made a simple to do page using the green bg paper...that one is my favourite...have some other goodies i got this week...but will show you on the weekend...i am a busy person this week....lol...until next time...take care...xxxoops...just better add my poetry journal i just finished...i am pretty happy with it but now want to make another one...ps...pulled apart an old remote control for the tv and have sort of rigged up a way for the "a" key to work...just...lol....happy day...oh...pps...won our 4th pennants bowls match today...now we have a possible 19 out of 20 points...yeah!!!!xxxxx

More artistic mother bckground papers, a page and a photo...

Hi there...happy sunday...here you will see the last of my layout challenge for scrap with v, a quick sketch page...this only took me less than half an hour...simple and clean lined...no mess involved whatsoever...

there is also a very messy lot of background papers i did for the artistic mothers group, based on the book by shona cole, and the group itself is hosted by trudy....i am yet to get the book, not through lack of trying, but the other day i ordered it off amazon....can't wait....

you will also see a photo of jacob helping his dad mow the lawn...he loved it, and successfully did a little strip in our yard...

2 more scrap with v...

Well...time has been pretty scarce with sick kids, visits to hospital, teaching Jacob and Connor off school with concussion...but today I managed to get 2 more pages done from the scrap with v cybercrop...seriously girls...the next one you should head on over and check it out...seriously fabulous prizes are up for grabs each month...you don't have to do every challenge if you are strapped for time, which is wonderful...there is a winner for each challenge....go here and check out the forum...the girls are all just gorgeous....hope you pop on over ...

above are the 2 pages i have done for the cybercrop...the criteria was certainly tricky for the flower power one...lol...but i think it turned out ok...the next was brigittes blind challenge...i did modify it a tad to suit what i was working with...but had fun and gee it was so quick to do...now, just have the card challenge and the sketch challenge to do...wish me luck...

I have been busy...cc pages, card and background paper for artistic mother...

Hope your weekend has been great...mine has been busy, with cleaning looking after sick kids, grocery shopping. being a taxi and finlly and best of all making things...lol...

Scrap with v cc was on on friday, and i managed to get 2 pages done this arvo....

the first was to create a page using 9 skinny strips of paper and colour in the title and bows....

thanks vanessa...loved it...

the other i did was set by belinda

rainbow colours bling and other bits and bobs..i forgot to use 2 photos tho...oops....thanks...loved it....

next is a card i made using a gorgeous stamp from debs creations...hey chickie is her

name...isn't she cute and perfect for easter....

and finlly i did some arty stuff with the kids...they had loads of fun...the first of many creative times in the coming 12 weeks where we will follow shona coles gorgeous book...the artistic mother....here are some snappies of the kids doing the paper for the collages...very bright i know...may have to make some darker ones...lol...do you just love out hvnds...gee i love getting messy...i know i say that alot...but its so true!!!

Hi there ...well...firstly...lost bowls today, so out of the comp...gives me time to do other things now...lol...like cleaning....yuk!!!!and creating, which is what i love to do...

For now i will show you my entry for the march artastic challenge...

Mucha was the creator/originator of ART Nouveau (French for new art style)Mucha's works frequently featured beautiful healthy young women in flowing vaguely Neoclassical looking robes, often surrounded by lush flowers which sometimes formed haloes behind the women's heads. In contrast with contemporary poster makers he used paler pastel colors.I recommend you all look up his Art Nouveau work to get a feel for his style (Google).

ARTastic Diva Demand... for an extra 6 bonus points

1. Use a cut out figurine from a photo = 1 pt

2. Make a halo using flowers around the figurines head = 2pts

3. Use Art Nouveau style/designs on your layout = 3 pts

My page is very messy ...it was white cardstock...the butterflies are just scrap cardboard packaging with paint and ink over the top...i got from the painting honesty, so that what i tried to put into my lo...an honest look at myself...my fingers were black for a while after this page...lol...gotta love staz on ink...i really do!!!!

MY SKETCH

Hi there...hope you are all having a great week. I am having a very busy one, that's for sure.

Teaching Jacob is always very time consuming, but very beneficial educationally for him, although he is busting to get to school. I have been in a bowls comp with my sister, and we keep on winning, which is awesome, but time consuming...will let you know how we go...lol...

Ihave been given my next kit from scrap with v...ohhh...loves it!!!! and can't wait to get my hands onto it, into it...you know what I mean...

I also was the sketch setter for scrap with v this month too...why not get over there and check it out...all you have to do is do it, join over there and upload it...
